Sciens Makes Senior Appointment to German Speaking Europe

 

LONDON, FRANKFURT, 14 September, 2011 – Sciens Fund of Funds Management Holdings, part of the Sciens Capital Management Group and provider of single- and multi-strategy funds of funds and managed account services, today announces the appointment of Stefan Muelheim as Senior Managing Director, responsible for institutional business development in German speaking Europe. 

Mr Muelheim reports to Dr Stavros Siokos, President of the fund of hedge funds business and the Managed Account Platform.  The appointment of Mr Muelheim is a new position in the Firm and marks the importance of the German speaking market and the continuing growth of Sciens.

Dr Siokos explained, “We’re delighted to welcome Stefan on board.  He has considerable knowledge of the challenges German institutional investors face and will be able to assist them to find suitably tailored alternative investments.”

“Stefan’s addition to the team comes at an important time.  Our range of risk management and alternative investment solutions including our managed account platform will be of particular benefit to German insurers who will soon be facing the challenges of implementing Solvency II,” continued Dr Siokos.

Prior to joining Sciens, Mr Muelheim was Head of Marketing at Bridge Asset Management in London. He formerly spent 14 years at Citigroup in London and Frankfurt. During his time with Citigroup, he was a board member of the German operations, responsible for fixed income, equities and alternative investments.  In this capacity, he was instrumental in the growth of the German business with Citigroup’s products ranking in the top quartile in terms of assets invested by German institutions.

Prior to Citigroup, Mr Muelheim was Head of the German desk at Dillon Reed Securities in London, responsible for the establishment and growth of the German research sales platform. He began his career in 1984 at Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt before later moving to London.
