LONDON, 8 November, 2011 – Sciens Fund of Funds Management Holdings, part of the Sciens Capital Management Group and provider of single- and multi-strategy funds of hedge funds and managed account services, today announces the appointment of Alex Allen senior portfolio manager in Sciens’ Fund of Hedge Funds business.
Based in the London office, Mr Allen will report to Stavros Siokos, President of the Sciens Fund of Hedge Funds and Managed Account Platform businesses.
Dr Siokos, commented, “Alex’s arrival is a great addition to the investment team. His highly successful track record combined with his substantial and lengthy experience in the Fund of Hedge Funds business will greatly assist Sciens as we strengthen and expand our funds of managed accounts range and bespoke portfolios for clients under advisory.”
Prior to joining Sciens, Mr Allen was a co-founder and Chief Investment Officer of Eddington Capital Management Limited, a London based company established in 2003. He managed Eddington’s two top-performing flagship products, including the Eddington Macro Opportunities Fund which won the InvestHedge ‘Best New Fund’ award after generating a 25% gain in 2008. Prior to Eddington, Mr Allen was the Portfolio Manager for hedge funds at EFG Asset Management Limited between 1999 and 2003. He has extensive experience in using separately managed accounts (SMAs) within fund of hedge funds and has managed both single-strategy and multi-strategy fund of hedge fund portfolios over the past 13 years.
Mr Allen holds a BSc Joint Honours degree in International Management & Modern Languages from the University of Bath.
